Technical Note on Beam Characteristics
- Due to the characteristics of radar beam patterns, the detection range is greatest along the antenna’s boresight (normal) direction. As the target moves off-axis, the effective range decreases.
- When the radar is mounted in a top-down (overhead) position, the usable detection range may be further limited by the beam spread and effective radiation coverage. This should be taken into account during installation and usage.
