A recent study found that 95% of elderly people want to live alone in later life. Of those

elderly people living alone, a third fall each year. Falls can have serious consequences,

with 88% resulting in hospitalisation. Many falls go unnoticed for several hours: 60%

of people spend 12 hours on the floor and 50% of falls are not reported to a doctor

at all.

Falling is an important cause of death for elders above the age of 65. Over the past

decade, the rate of fall triggered falls in seniors is rapidly increasing. A fast response

and medical intervention after the occurrence of a fall is positively correlated to the

outcomes. The prompt assistance after a fall of the informed nursing personnel

improves the chances for survival after fall.

The IR24FDA radar module is a radar detection module based on the millimeter wave

Doppler radar theory, which realizes human biological motion perception and human

biological perception. This module is based on the enhanced Doppler radar signal

processing theory, and realizes wireless perception of the status of personnel in a

specific place through the synchronous sensing technology of Doppler parameters of

personnel movement and physiological parameters of personnel.

provides a range of human activity and a record of the length of stay. Direct warning output for actions with a large movement
